So! MORE CHANGES coming up: I am going to be coming back to New York for another three months (maybe slightly less), from January 3rd which is, jesus, right around the corner, and until the end of March.
Basically, the merger-type process I was helping with at work is still, well, in process, and I'm going to be working from the NY offices to help see it through. I'll probably be living in a studio apartment on the upper east side, I just got a plane ticket today, I have to pack up my entire apartment in Tel Aviv because the rent's going up and I'd rather just move when I get back, I'm not sure yet what position I'll have when I return (though I am assured I'll have a position), and I have no boots and a slightly torn coat.
I'm definitely excited for this - 3 months in NY and the US! Seeing more of you! Probably seeing the Book of Mormon because fewer people are crazy enough to stand in the snow for lottery tickets I hope! Seeing the Hawks because they'll be playing in NY in February and uh yes please! Seeing the folks from the NY office, who I really really liked! Feeling needed at the office!
But this time it's a more... contained, apprehensive excitement. It's not just coming to the US, it's leaving - my friends, my family, very possibly my department and position, the people I spend most of my waking hours with... I don't love the job, but man do I love the people. And New York is going to be cold, and the work is going to be challenging. So I am EXCITED but a little scared and stressed out, and instead of just packing a suitcase I'll be packing an apartment. (Uh, and sending it to my folks', not to New York, in case that wasn't assumed.)
Haha right and I have to finish start my Yuletide fic before that, that is a thing that will also happen.
In any case. Once again, I am hoping to see as many of you as I can, with a bit more time now, and perhaps I'll leave the city a bit too for a weekend or two or three, and if any of you have been looking for a reason to visit New York in Jan-March or a couch to sleep on, please don't forget about me ♥
(Also if you want to go to the Hawks game, TALK TO ME)
And because I didn't say for I believe the first time in ten years of LJ /o\ - I hope anyone celebrating had a lovely, wonderful Hanukkah <3
