1. Amazon are being idiots, as I'm sure you guys have heard. I know that I always look at the sales rank of their titles, and even if I don't buy the book, it influences what I think of it and what I'll think of it if I run into it in a bookshop. Send a letter, boycott... hopefully there'll be a big internet hoopla and they'll change it back quickly. (ETA: I wrote this last night, and by now you've all heard of it, I'm sure, and it looks like Amazon are going to fix it.)
2. From nikomaria: musical at the Antwerpen Central Station! Makes me smile so wide :-) (Reminds me of the food court musical, which is also all kinds of awesome.)
3. Anyone want to give me Kings prompts? I only want one or two for short ficlets. the weather's pretty and I'm stuck.
4. I have so many shows to catch up on. Have finally caught up on 30 Rock and The Office -- yes, I'm starting with the easy ones -- and I'm catching up on four episodes of SPN tonight.
I don't have many reactions, because I spend most of the time sighing Castiel, you so pretty at the screen, peppered with oh, Deans and oh, Sams.
4x14 "Sex and Violence": was so long ago, and the title annoyed me, and I decided I can bear to skip one single episode of SPN and catch up on it at a future date.
4x15 "Death Takes a Holiday": Cute. I, um, liked the scene where the kid teaches them ghost tricks?
4x16 "On the Head of a Pin": 1. Awesome title. 2. Castiel so pretty! I love that he's having doubts. 3. Castiel's "Uriel is the funniest angel in the garrison. Ask anyone" -- lol, Castiel has a fantastic sense of humor :-) 4. It is very weird to me how Uriel is pronounced in English, given what a common boy's name it is here (including in my family). In Hebrew, it'd be Oo-ree-el. In English it's this close to urinal. 5. Oh, Dean. Poor boy. 6. Ew, Sam's a demon vampire?
4x17 "It's a Terrible Life": AHAHAHAHA. Okay, I love the beginning, with Dean's car and the tie and the music. Awesome. I bet this Dean is BFF with Barney Stinson. HAHA SAM, you can be my tech support guy any time. LOL, I love how Sam looks like he needs to fold himself in half just to fit in his cubicle. OMG MICROWAVE SUICIDE EW. Wow, both Sam and Dean look seriously spray-tanned. OMG PENCIL JUGULAR SUICIDE EW EW EW. LOL, "I feel like there's something I should be doing more than sitting in the cubicle." "I think most people who work in a cubicle feel that way." Wow, this yellow shirt really brings out Sam's pecs. Hahaha, okay, the Ghostfacers are hilarious, and the editing of their entire sequence is perfect. EW ELEVATOR DEATH OMG SHOW. Okay, the conversation with the Zacharia in the end -- why couldn't he have just stuck to "You can do it, Dean" and shown Dean he should just believe in himself because they do (even if they don't)? I am so not fond of the kind of macho "Do you want to have a cool car and fornicate with women and hunting's in your blood, or do you want to drink your sissy lattes in civilization?" crap he's laying on. But it's probably what'll work best on Dean, sigh. Anyway, yay, awesome ep, and I am grateful that every season, when the going gets really really dark, they'll pull out one of these bright, colorful, lighthearted episodes for some comic relief.
4x18 "The Monster at the End of This Book": AHAHAHA okay that is fantastic. It's like Wormhole X-Treme, or that SG-1 episode with the Simpsons guy, or, okay, this trope's been done before but AWESOME. I love the book cover. Haha, "I'm full frontal in here, dude." OMG FANSITES. OH MY FUCKING GOD SAM SLASH DEAN. You win, Kripke, you motherfucking win. "All right, now I'm crying on the inside." Okay, basically, I can't keep quoting because I'm pretty sure I'll have the whole episode in here but EEE I am loving this episode. "All for the sake of literary symmetry." Oh, god, the meta, I am dead. "You just thought I was a dick," LOL. Okay, ever since they approved using the word 'dick' on this show, the writers have been going all out. I personally don't see a difference between dick, shit and fuck on the scale of swear words, but whatever. "Behave yourself, would you? No homework. Watch some porn." And then Dean's little smirk! Aww. Haha, "You shoulda seen Luke"! Castiel, how are you so awesome? Awwww! Dean's praying! And Cas (Cass?) shows up! And he can't help, but aww, he's helping anyway! Yay Cass, VERY SLY, with those long sidelong looks, really discreet.
Yay, caught up! I hadn't realized I'd actually missed the road trip and the diners and the Winchester boys. This show has such a special feel.
