I just was thinking about holidays before; and decided to post about them; and ask anyone who may read this about their holidays.
Everytime I contemplate/organise holidays I want to/do justify it in terms of playing gigs... but I think maybe it'd be nice to have a night/weekend at one of the coasts in a really nice hotel and just relax with friends. Y'know, bathrobes, room service, few bottles of wodka bought on the way down, saunas, massages, etc. faux-opulence, or something. Just totally relax. But then I also think "hey if I play a gig I get a couple of free gigs and some money". And you get to meet way more new people.
Favourite non-family holiday: a toss up between Europe start of last year (amazing experience; occasionally intense) and Melbourne last year for Molliger tour (short trip, amazing party)
Favourite family holiday: caravaning around qld/nt/sa/nsw for a few months with my parents when i was 5. i have barely any memories, but they were all great.
last holiday: melbourne for my birthday/tour
next holiday: touring nsw/act/vic in a month; then maybe down to tina
dream holiday: back to europe to tour; but leave my stuff in berlin for a few weeks at start/end just to travel. or else japan, lots of friends, could do gigs, and buy cool shit. and of course, vegas. i'd love to go there even for 5 days, do a grand a day or so [whilst in the usa, i'd also love to spend a few days in san fran, ny and the appalachian mountains].
pretty much all of these involve playing music, which is both cool and frightening. in theory i'd love to go outback for a week or so and just escape everything... but i don't know how i could cope without technology. maybe the luxury weekend option is the way to go ha.
discuss, internet users!
