Surgery

So, Dad's in surgery right now. 1pm.

For all of you that don't know - I haven't been real forthcoming - Dad's got a brain tumor. We don't know if it's cancerous or not, but it had to be taken out, obviously. They'll do the biopsy on it and action'll be taken from there. If it's cancerous, he'll get on a cocktail of drugs, not like he won't be on that anyway post-surgery...and he'll have to get yearly check-ups, cause even though the tumor's gone, the cancer'll never go away, really. So m'hopin' it's benign, obviously.

I just called Mom, she and Carlee visited Dad pre-surgery, he's upbeat and cheerful, which ain't anything less than I expected. He's been at the hospital since yesterday and he'll be there another 10 days, and then he can't work or do anything really for at least six weeks, which is gonna drive the old man crazy, I know it. But you do what you gotta.

I really wish I was there. Yeah, maybe more for Mom and Carlee than for him. I just sorta feel like...Dad's down, so I gotta step up and take over. Can't, though, Dad insisted I stay home, fulfill my obligations. Which I...did have. Breakfast benefitting leukemia and then a dinner tonight, and it's an early dinner, so there's no way I coulda made it from Pittsburgh to home to Pittsburgh.

So he'll be fine. I'm goin' home sometime next week, I think.

Anyway, on to better things, I guess. I got a golf lesson at some point with Arnold Palmer, which is real cool, he's just gotta check his calendar. I got two trophies in the mail today for winnin' pro ams, which I didn't expect, and now gotta find a place for. A particular pitcher played an awesome game last night. And I bought Zeusy a ton of new squeaky toys, soooo...I think from the squeaking, ripping noises they're makin', it's a hint I should go play with him. I told you guys I'm trainin' him to be a killer, heh.
