Ever have one of those days?

Ever have one of those days where you go into the day thinking it was going to be a complete nightmare, but it turns out to be a pretty good day? Yesterday was like that for me. I was half figuring on tons of drama and in-fighting with Harold (our dock manager) and a certain co-worker. But things were peaceful for the most part. We had a fairly small truck and got it unloaded and processed fairly early. After we were all done and had everything processed and put away, the entire dock crew got together for a meeting with the assistant store manager. The meeting was pretty much about changing up job assignments within the dock processing team (a suggestion that I made almsor 6 months ago) and that they were pretty much going to start going by the book in regards to dress code, behavior, and acceptable conduct and everything *shrugs* oh well, nothing really new there. So now they are trying to establish a "effecient, professional workplace that is fun and friendly". We'll have to see how everything turns out tomorrow.
On the plus side, we did get free donuts and orange juice.

Edit: I got a call from that co-worker earlier this afternoon and she wasn't really all that happy with the way the meeting went. I'm not sure what she was expecting to happen at the meeting? But I'm not the least bit surprised. I don't think her and Harold will ever get along no matter what happens. She wont be happy until he is fired, and he probably wont be happy until she quits or something. He's a manager and is basically in charge back there. And since he is a manager, the other managers will probably side with him for the most part even though most of them don't like Harold either, but if they let a worker intimidate and bypass a manager, it will make them feel like they aren't in charge anymore, so they'll side with another manager every time unless they do something that blatantly violates workers rights. Harold hasn't done that, he just snaps at her from time to time and hasn't really done anything "wrong" for the most part. So she can either deal with it or leave. Which is what she has been talking about doing here lately. Hopefully I hope she does... Shes a nice person and a good worker, but if she can't get along with the manager, and the upper management wont do anything because he hasn't done anything major, and she is upset and unhappy that she can't go off and chat with the cleaning crew or wander the floor from time to time, then I think it is time for her to leave.

When She isn't there, things are perfectly fine. When Harold isn't there, things are perfectly fine. But sometimes when they are both there, they make work much more dramatic and a lot less enjoyable and fun. Luckily, only have to get through tomorrow before Harold is on vacation. And hopefully tomorrow will be like yesterday was and be mellow and easy-going for the most part. Heres to hoping *lol*

updates, work
