About those California Wildfires.

I'm mostly noticing the smoke here in San Jose (two clear days in the last two weeks, cough). But that got me to wondering how bad it is:

Box Score

  • Acreage: 515,178
  • Homes destroyed: 2,013
  • Deaths: Seven directly due to fire; seven involving evacuees, including infirmity, age, accident.
  • Injuries: 115 firefighters, 27 civilians
  • Current evacuees: At least 389 people in 11 shelters

Over half a million acres burned.

Over two Thousand homes destroyed.

The only positive notes are the amazingly low rate of death and injury, but this ain't nearly over yet.
