It was an ugly argument.
During the case, the museum curator had railed against those responsible for extinctions. John and Eva weathered that.
After the case was solved, and the perpetrator arrested -(a kid with a Flemish surname)- the curator had spoken with venom about all the species that the Dutch had wiped out. Amsterdam then proceeded to get in the curator’s face and give him a what-for…verbally, of course.
As they walked away - once she’d pried him off the curator - Eva said, “That was…different.”
“Sorry ‘bout that,” John said.
“Don’t worry about it. I mean, it isn’t like you killed the last dodo or anything.”
The last one? No. “True.”
