there's a comment-fic bonanza going on over at
Taraljc's place. I highly recommend it!
It worries John that she likes this show so much. Kinda scary.
Not the plot itself - to a future Savior aware of his flaws, it's a silly story, even if there are hot chicks in it - but how much Cameron's taken to watching it.
Religiously.
Normal people watch cable, so the tv's on for at least an hour a day. Even if nobody's home. Even if they're all out dodging Terminators or mafioso-wannabes.
"Remind you of anyone?" John asks. Just to make conversation. Just as a scene plays out that is so like what they saw on a piece of Vick's memory files.
"No," Cameron says. If it was a truth, it was unaccompanied by expression - no surprise, even now. If it was a lie, only she knew it was such.
Several Grace Parks walked out and greeted - Shannon Valeri, isn't it? John thought to himself, knowing he was going to have dreams about this for at least a week.
"Think the show's writers know about Judgement Day?" John asked.
Meant it as a joke.
Cameron turns her head and looks at him. Doesn't answer.
His insides run cold.
