They were interviewing a witness in the security of the station, when the teen asked Charlie what he thought of the latest Dan Brown book - and got an answer right fast. “Are you sure?”
“Yep,” Charlie said.
“You finished the book already?”
“Thought you were still on that other book,” Dani said to Crews.
“I am,” he told Reese. “Only needed to read the first two chapters,” to the teenager.
“And you solved it? Already?”
“It wasn’t difficult.”
“It’s a conspiracy tracing back through the corridors of power, all the way to the family of Christ…and you don’t think it’s difficult to unravel?”
“That’s right,” wishing he’d brought a fruit in with him - a bite right now, that’d be a good punctuation mark.
