The passport and death certificate (both blank) that Renard's spy found combined with a creature that makes people fall into a death like state makes me think that the paperwork is for Nick (you probably have to have a person's passport to get them back into thier home country even after death.They are going to whammy him and kidnap him. Plus the ep's title is goodnight Sweet Grimm . Season 3 will start with Nick being captured and his people riding to the rescue , possibly with Mama Grimm coming back. Wu could end up being read into the situation because they need his help , with him I could easily see him taking it well and saying he already knew or that it explained a lot.
Of course there is a small chance that Eric's evil plan will not go the way he planned but it's the season finale and writer's love to cliffhang those. An alternate plot could have it where the cliffhung thing would be something revealing that Grimm are indeed Vessen of some sort (Monroe, Rosalee and Bud's protests to Juliette make me think this might be possible . At the very least we'll get Juliette seeing Nick in action showing off the physical aspects of being a Grimm.
