Movies!

I've seen Ratatouille, Nancy Drew, and am going to see Transformers soon.

Believe you me, there aren't that many other movies out right now, once you eliminate the blood-and-guts and things that you'd call spam if they showed up in your Junk Mail folder.

Ratatouille
Nice, very nice. Plenty of food for thought, and comedy too.

One thing happened in this movie that always puzzles me -- when a character moves so fast that the pair goes from being four feet apart, to their lips in contact with each other (in less than 5 seconds)...and within a minute of that, her arm ropes around his back.
Consider this a fic challenge if you want to: doesn't that hurt? Or does the endorphins from the kiss block out any perception of pain?

I know what you're thinking: in a movie with talking rats, he's puzzled by the dynamics of high-impact kissing?

my favorite line in the movie: "How could I have known? I'm a figment of your imagination; if you didn't know, how could I?"

Nancy Drew
Pretty good, as a matter of fact. It didn't hurt that I'm an old fan of Encyclopedia Brown, a sleuth like Nancy is. Intellectualism triumphing over physicality. Holmes would be proud of this young lady.

one of the great lines: "Wouldn't this be considered sleuthing?" "Who'm I kidding? I can't stop."
(of course, this was only halfway through the film, so she did try to stop even after this)

Yes indeed, this movie asks a question few others have: how easy is it for a detective to stop investigating?
