observations on episode 3.03:
is it signifigant that all the Creatures in the Opening Credits (with one exception) are from the future?
* ooh, another alumni from Walking with Prehistoric Beasts! :)
* Stanley's a good name.
* as Connor and Abby walked away from the make-do delivery room, my thought was "isn't that basically how the Jersey Zoo got started?"
* hey, and they're finally thinking to show Sarah a picture of someone before that someone shows up! yay.
* well, Helen definately remembers Sarah.
* almost eusocial of the Cleaners and the New Nick, arent they?
* there are Predators being made in the ARC...well, that would certainly explain last week's Creature -- the color-change ability of squid, the posture of a primate, and the claws somewhere between cat and sloth.
and some might disagree, but this scene actually shows how their roles are reversed. after all, in 1.03 when Helen asks Nick to go through time with her, Nick says that it's important to save people. now, Helen says that she's trying to save people, and Nick's reply is that we shouldn't try to change history.
and from the viewpoint of a Future Predator, the Age of Mankind is history
* many people said that, last week, Nick was being mystical. well, this week, he's being suicidal. having a concussion and smoke inhalation don't excuse her, but they certainly plausibly shorten Helen's emotional fuse - so when he glares at her and gives a pretty cutting insult...
(personally, I have a feeling that that wasn't the real Nick - rather, it was one trained to give Nick-like reactions...one point in support of my thought: if Nick knew what that thing was, why didn't he tell Connor?)
* seriously? Connor carried Cutter out of the building?
* is it irony that Abby's shirt was readable while Cutter was lying on the ground? (that bit about "life" "nature" "love")
