I don't know if its still on the air anymore, but I used to watch it on either BBC_America or BBC_International...
* it was a detective show.
* the lead detective had a (young teen?) daughter, whose mother was either dead or had left some years before.
* the opening credits had the actors' names in a series of crossword puzzles.
* one of the female characters on the detective's team tended to wear a sweater and was slightly Tosh-ish. (called "Anorak" I think)
