Revision one of the dramatic monologue. Changed to ballet form as per suggestion, fixed the meter a bit. comments? suggestions? compare and contrast. mucho love.

If I could change the world for us,
if all i dreamed came true;
You'd never have loved another,
or felt that love hurt you.

You'd be starry-eyed and naive,
as fresh as morning dew;
Enduring as a lakeland ship,
a course in life locked true.

But that might never be, alas,
as cynicism reigns;
As jaded introspection shows,
your true heart has not stayed.

But I cannot be thwarted by,
a heart sealed shut with rage;
My Quixotic quest continues,
through enigmatic ways.

And I will save you ere the 'morrow,
let the truth be heard today;
As every poet knows in heart,
Love always finds a way.
