Grand Jury Indicts Kentucky Governor
FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 11) - The governor of Kentucky has been indicted by a special grand jury investigating whether he and his administration made hiring decisions based on political alliances.

Ernie Fletcher is charged with misdemeanor charges of criminal conspiracy, official misconduct, and breaking a prohibition against political patronage.

The special grand jury has been investigating since last summer whether Fletcher's administration illegally rewarded political supporters with state jobs.

So far, 13 current and former administration officials and associates have been indicted on misdemeanor charges in the probe.

Fourteen sealed indictments were also handed down today by the grand jury.
