So I recently fell even more into love with Peter Cincotti than I ever previously have before. When I discovered jazz, I also discovered him. I love his voice, so I've already fallen in love with him. He has a new CD coming out (in the USA) June 3, but it's all original songs. At first I was dissappointed, because I wanted it to be more jazz. The thing is, I am currently addicted to his new stuff. It's fantastic.
Angel Town -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2shXkSGsrs It's upbeat & funky. It's about LA, and it's really fricking catchy. It's been in my head since the first time I heard it yesterday morning.
Goodbye Philadelphia -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65raCbW5WkU&feature=related It's a slow, lost-love kind of a song, but it's absolutely gorgeous. I wish someone would say to me, "I would lay your body down & rock your tears away..."
Cinderella Beautiful -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6c89FrU8TM&feature=related Another slower, lost-love kind of song, but again, it's beautiful. "Every now & then I miss who I was with you, and I wonder where he went."
Make it Out Alive is a snappier tune, not happy, but it's got funk. December Boys is great, too.
Actually, I think all of them are great.
