Remembering when you were mine, in a still suburban town.

Last night I saw Death Cab for Cutie with Lindsey, Bekka, and some of her friends. Firstly, when did Ben Gibbard get skinny? I was sitting kind of far away and couldn't see his face well, but from my seat he looked less of a geek and more of a rock star. Before I'd turn gay just to have him sing to me all the time, now I might actually want his body too. I laughed. Anyways, the show was amazing (for an Arena show). The last concert I had seen was Sigur Ros about 7 months ago, so this is was a grand belated show to follow it up. The set list was pretty good. They played all but 4 songs from Transatlanticism. Passenger Seat, Death of an Interior Decorator, and A Lack of Color are obvious omissions for a set list, but I was a bit upset they did not play Tiny Vessels right before Transatlanticism. Those songs are meant to go together. They didn't play as much from plans as I expected, and enough older tunes like 405 and Company Calls. Overall, seeing them made me feel pretty damn good about being in the States. We have an awesome music scene, especially in the greater Seattle area.

This next week is going to be interesting. With some people coming home and many leaving for various study abroad experiences I am not sure what to make of it. I know that there is plenty of excitement though. How lucky are some to be leaving the country for a semester. But then again, I'm fortunate to have some amazing people come home and see. And then the Boyd comes home on the 22nd. I'm really excited for him to come home. He's like my brown bear (I've been watching heaps of Scrubs as of late).
