Summary: Fi was a hunter before she started hunting, born to the life even if she wasn't raised in it-a true professional in a way her father never was. Jo's been waiting her whole life to follow in her father's footsteps. When they team up for a case, Fi recognizes right away how well they work together; for Jo, it takes a little longer.

Reccer's notes: I'm not normally into femslash, but once I started, I could not stop reading this fic. Fi is a powerful hunter in her own right, and Jo is fleshed out further than we see in canon, but still the same character we know (and in my case love). The parallels drawn between Jo and Fi and Sam and Dean are subtle but brilliant, and I couldn't tell you whether Fi is in Jo's world or Jo is in Fi's, the two are blended together so seamlessly. Also, the accompanying art is gorgeous.

[Short excerpt]Right away Jo recognizes it for the invitation it is: Stay with me. Neither of us need to do this alone, and all at once she understands the catch in Fi's voice. Those offers, time after time-they were never a game to Fi.

Jo smiles, biting her lip, trying to pretend like warmth isn't blooming everywhere inside her. "I guess I can put up with you for a little while. After all, we're sisters." But the word seems wrong; it doesn't quite fit what they are, simultaneously more and less. She doesn't want to think about it, not now, not when everything else is falling into place, so she pushes the instinct to the back of her mind. "So where are we headed?" she asks, and Fi throws a look at her, grinning.

"Lawrence, Kansas."
