Reccer's notes: Each part alone is worth reccing, but I really love this post for how well the combination of media works. The fic is beautifully written, with this uneasy, possessive relationship between Ruby and Lilith, and its vivid description of the girls who come to sing for them, chasing big dreams. The fanmix features the best voices for this mood of starved, devotional, destructive love: Nina Simone, Esperanza Spalding, Diana Krall, etc. And the lush picture of Ruby and Lilith is like the cherry on the top. Very much reccomended!
