"my mules are not so stubborn!" "so make love to your mule."

I feel more woozy and nauseated than quixotic, but let's go with it since it suits the evening more.

So I was irrationally tired and went to 'nap' at 7:30 PM last night. I pulled myself out of bed at 4 AM because Dad had had me take some digital photos of him in a suit for this conference thing, and I still hadn't downloaded them from the card and emailed them to him. I went back to bed around 7 AM, intending to get a little more sleep before class at 11. I HEARD my alarms, turned off the one I could access and let the other continue playing Blur for an hour. I woke up an hour later and it was 10:45 AM and too late to get to theatre on time. I don't know why, but I was exhausted beyond reason and I slept really heavily and had really involved and screwed-up dreams. I honestly didn't want to miss theatre again - that's the third time now, and the second time I've overslept. The other time I was sick. I'm worried about what it will do to my grade, but I guess I'm more worried that I slept so much - I went BACK to bed until 1. That's what... over 12 hours of sleep? It's ridiculous. X(

ANYWAYZ. I had to see a play tonight for selfsame theatre class - Man Of La Mancha. For the uninitiated (just click the bloody link so I don't have to go into one of my long-winded explanations!), it was about Don Quixote and the writer of Don Quixote - Miguel de Cervantes. It was a fantastic production on a black box stage, with an amazingly-engineered enormous canvas-and-wood windmill that swung out and down into the stage for the fight scenes. The actors were great, the singing was really gorgeous - everyone had a beautiful voice, and it was hilarious! I was taking notes for a while but I gave up because I was so engrossed by the play. I have to write a short written report on it but that's not due until the 18th. Anyway, I really enjoyed it and even if I FAIL OUT OF THE CLASS for oversleeping too many times, I didn't feel like my time was wasted at all.

I think there was more to this update. I don't really have more to SAY, since life's been sort of dull this week. Uh, I got a 100% on my first astronomy test, and I think my dramatic performances for oral interpretation went fine. I may have sucked up the first theatre test - good god, I am not fucking made for theatre, which is sad, but only sometimes; when I see really awesome theatre/acting put on, I want to be onstage with them, acting along. I like the image of working so closely with people to put on a dramatic show, and singing, and dressing up, but in practice, I'm not a very good actor and the whole business annoys me.

sdflkj??! Why do you go to one of the 3 Smiths songs I have downloaded, WMP? Fucking Morrissey ruins it, too. "How Soon Is Now?" I mean, the music is GREAT and I love the t.A.T.u. cover and the awesomeness of Johnny Marr, but SCREW YOU MORRISSEY AGHARHGLFJKL. He sounds like he swallowed a bird and is still choking on it.

I went shopping today too - briefly, though. Smeg and I stopped at the mall and I discovered that the place that I liked in the food court what made the best cold sweet tea and these really great salads CLOSED DOWN AND DISAPPEARED. In the space of, like, a week?! Why?? I loved you, sweet tea people!! You could've at least warned me and sold me your sweet tea-making machine. But there's a place called Clipper's Tea... Shanty or something just across the room, and it had perfectly adequate cold teas of many flavors. I like having a tea fix. It is my favorite drink.

Hot Topic has some fantastic Halloween heels that they carried 3 years ago and I regretted not having bought them. Here they are. They're so red and shiny and platformy and CUTE! They look great on, but the ridge where the top of the toe covering starts digs into the top of my foot and it's just like this other pair of shoes I had to get rid of, and I tried on another pair and one of the salesgirls said that she had a pair of them, too, but when I said they were uncomfortable she chided me that they were made for Halloween so they weren't meant to be comfortable. Now, I might be kind of weird, but if I'm buying shoes for Halloween, I am not going to pay $30 for them. I am going to pay $10, tops. Also, what good are completely amazing platform heels if I can't wear them wherever I want?? Exactly! >\ So my shoe dreams are crushed yet again. Those grey faux-suede slouch boots at Torrid were painfully uncomfortable and crushed my 80s revivalist dreams. So I got some rainbow star earrings and some mod-like earrings instead. BUT I MIGHT GET THEM STILL. I REALLY LOVE THEM. :X

I need to work on my Ana Matronic costume, speaking of. I've definitely got the feather boas and plenty of makeup and suitable jewelry, and I'll dye my hair, but I need a dress and heels and leg-wear of some kind, I'm sure! What color should I be? I'm thinking lime green, orange, red, hot pink, or purple. And yeah, I know no one will know who I am, but -I- know and it'll be great fun. :D

SO. I have some pictures from the past few weeks for you guys!

One wet day, we had a particularly adventurous brown spider weave his web between the two cars in the driveway. It was a very impressive achievement! Smeg had to transfer it with a stick to the van, though, as we needed the Forester.

From the other side.

Obligatory Cat Photo time! Here's our pretty girls, Miss Charlotte and Cinnamon Lard. Look how big my baby's gotten! Except for her huge satellite ears that her tiny head will never grow into!

Jack has been enjoying daily outings on the front porch, where he sits and sniffs the air and makes big fat faces. He'th tho cute.

Lard on a vanity stool Mom had just bought. She displays herself in such a ladylike fashion.

HELLOOOO. I'M HUGE.

Lard hates it when anything takes up her precious table.

SO FAT.

Clearly, my photography was offending Mssr. Tubblesworth.

We got this rental car and as we were putting groceries in it at SuperTarget, I noticed this little tab hanging from the trunk's interior lid. I think the picture says it all.

I don't know what these are (Smeg's told me the name about 450 times now), but they're really awesome and drippy!

No one knew it, but Smeg had planted a Jess beneath her garden arch! Fancy that. LOOK AT MY MUSE SHIRT LOOK AT MY MUSE SHIRT ISN'T IT THE BEST SHIRT EVER MUSE SHIRT MUSE SHIRT. IT SAYS ESUM!!!

Smeg planted some squash and gourd seeds and they went completely out of control, producing many specimens such as the one captured here. Isn't she so cute in her garden with her Bowie shirt? :D I wuv my green-thumbed Smeg.

This is a tree we found by the side of the intersection behind our house (true story). Smeg had to rescue it, and Dad happened to be coming round the corner and spotted Smeg and myself trying to lug this giant root-ball with 10ft. high branches across the busy street. We actually could only move it to the corner from where it was in the gutter, and we were going to make an awkwardly slow procession during the stoplight, but as fortune would have it, we didn't have to. Smeg and Mom potted it and Smeg is extremely happy to have it. She thinks it's a white pine of some kind. NO, FORGIVE ME. IT IS A WILLOW TREE. I stand corrected. :X
