shopping excursion.
DESSY, ANDREA, ANYONE ELSE WHO LIKES BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN: I'm not sure if you guys regularly shop at Hot Topic, but when I was in there today, they had brown T-shirts with faded outlines of a saddle (I think) and the words 'I WISH I KNEW HOW TO QUIT YOU' in white. I figured you might be interested.
We went to the mall today, Smeg and Mom and I. We had a great deal of fun. Our main goal was getting Dad some 30th anniversary gifts (their anniversary is Monday - wish them many happy returns!), and we got him a few engraved things and some transportation-shaped cookie cutters. Mom just wants me to bake them a gigantic apple cobbler (I am notorious for my fantastic apple pastry-type things) and clean up the house, which is definitely do-able.
So in other news, I'm sort of planning on getting a job around the end of April. I just want a temporary thing, because I plan on having a bunch of shit to do in July and mostly, I'm getting a job for the experience/branching out towards independence. If I can stop freaking out about school all the time, I might get another in the fall, but we'll wait and see how it goes. Anyway, I don't think I can do food service because of IBS, so I'm looking at retail or, like, the clerical work sort of stuff Nicky's done. LOL. I don't really know how to sell myself, though, and while I'm responsible, can type really fast, am friendly and honest, I don't have any extracurricular volunteer-type stuff or prior employment experiences to wave at people. It kind of sucks, but that's life. I just wondered if anyone had advice for seeking employment and where I might be more successful applying to. I do have a Michaels that's really close by and I think I would like working there well enough, but I imagine it'd be better if I applied there for a more long-term job or as a seasonal worker or something. So yes, advice, please!
I need to dust and vacuum in here. And I'm thinking I want to get another small bookshelf so I can empty the crate o'books under my bed. My closet also needs cleaning as well. :X
