We spent a few hours with Dessy tonight! Smeg and I went to pick her up, and even though the route to her house involves only 5 left turns (onto the neighborhood drive, onto Blondo, onto 90th which winds into Sorensen, onto 30th Street, onto Kansas/Belvedere), we missed the divide between north and south 30th and got turned around, but I figured out where we were, and then we missed the damn boulevard. I watched for it so carefully, and yet it sneaks up on me anyway. :\

I got a good start on knitting another little 'saddle bag', this one for Smeg, out of green Wool-Ease Thick'N'Quick (if it's Thick and Quick, I'm totally there. I love fat yarn!) and lime and teal Fun Fur. It's very cute.

So we picked up Dessy and went to our beloved Walgreens so she could get us cheap chocolate and some blank CD-Rs. I got another plush toy crayon, because I'm pathetic. He's red. <3 Then we stopped at Michaels for Dessy to get some pink baby yarn for a hat. I got some straight 17 needles but I still need straight 19s, circular 17s, and circular 19s for some projects I'm going to do. One's a ribbon-yarn bag and one's a cowl-necked tank for Veerlet.

We came home and ate pizza, but Dessy's mom came and picked her up soon after. SOMEDAY we will hang out for more than 2 hours! Someday! It was fun to see her. I wish we had classes together. Or at least at the same time of day.

Hmm. Oh! Veer, we got your package today! Thank you for the old crayons and the Billy Elliot DVD! I wanted to watch it with Smeg & Dessy tonight, but That Was Not To Be. Such a cute movie. Smeg loves the books, too. :D *GWARR*

Mom read in the paper that Ice-T is going to be speaking at the reopening of the Washington branch of our public library system. I'm not sure what about, but she really wants to go, because she loves him on Law & Order: Rapists and Hooker Killers Piss Us The Fuck Off. I do, too. He was also fun in Tank Girl. And he lisps. And is about 3 feet tall. So we might go listen to Ice-T talk. I can't find word of this on the web, but then, I guess no one cares about Midwestern library happenings.

We watched that show tonight, and the rerun of House, and then Smeg and I spent 3 hours playing Warrior Within, since we're total losers. We're getting close to where we need to be, though!! It takes so long to play, that game. And we fucked around in some room for like an hour. Baaaaack and forth. We also baked an angel food cake, which I'm going to go partake of once I hang up all these clothes.

I will also watch Dr. Food and maybe set up our debate outline thing in Wordpad, AND read/study for the debate midterm on Monday!

Ah, I almost forgot - Mom and Smeg saw the cardiologist today. He's a nice man and has mannerisms similar to Vincent D'Onofrio, Smeg says (the weird nervous genius guy on Law & Order: Crazy People Commit The Best Crimes). He gave her a heart monitor, which she wears all the time except when bathing. It has a 'record' button that she presses when something makes her heart go funny, and after 5 recordings she dials a number and plays it back at them. It makes these awesome Space Invaders-type noises and when she plays it back, it goes at double-time so it's like a little malfunctioning siren. It gives us great joy, which shows that we need to get out more.
