There's about green Day i once noticed (it was actually before 21st Century Breakdown) that ever since they signe with reprise, the periods between their album releases are growing in a arithmetical progression. (i'm only counting major albums, and not compilations like Shenanigans or any side-projects)
just think about it:
Dookie, released in 1994
Insomniac, released in 1995 (1 year)
Nimrod, released in 1997 (2 years)
Warning, relesed in 2000 (3 years)
American Idiot, released in 2004 (4 years!!!!)
after that, i said: i'm afraid Green Day are releasing their albums in a growing progression, i hope they'll break it with their next album, it would be awful if they only release their next album in 2009
AND WHAT DO THEY DO THEN?! RELEASE '21ST CENTURY BREAKDOWN' RIGHT IN 2009 AND IN 5 YEARS AFTER AMERICAN IDIOT!!!
there's one thing i can say: NOW they've got to finally break the progression, for if they only release in 2015, i'll fucking shoot myself up because of the waiting :)
