tuesdays are new release day
Last Tuesday I got the new collective soul album, aqua teen volume 3, live rooney and live 311. This Tuesday I got the new LIVE INCUBUS at redrocks dvd, new Hoobastank dvd and new JET live dvd. Tuesdays rock!
I just want to talk about my new friends a little. They're all first semester students. They're like my "new crew", such as I have an "old crew" that I still do things with every once and a while. It's hard for me to get the new crew to go out because most of them either don't have enough money or aren't into the party and concert scene. I understand about the money for the most part. Although I think after the first semester they should start looking for part time jobs as I've found it tends to aid my weekend habits very well. From concerts to movies, to buying new music, I feel like I'm getting the most out of my time in Boston. I just wish others could experience the nightlife with me. My old crew has a house in Allston that has killer parties that always include great funk and reggae music on the huge soundsystem. the walk back from those parties can be even more fun. We also have to make time to ROCK more often. I get these sudden urges to want to sing loud and strum hard, but who can I jam with?? Barely anyone without planning it at least a week in advance. UGH. I appreciate all my friends both new and old and I want them all to remember that despite my sometimes bitterness when no one wants to go out.
Last night my buddy Meat filled in on drums for the band Eight Deep who opened for Karl Denson's Tiny Universe. AWESOME funk show!! He asked me to take pictures at the show because he's starting to collect footage, pictures and recordings to get drum endorsments. I'm proud of Meat for taking on so much drum activity. He's the man.
December 1st has a crazy amount of good concerts. If you are 21+ go to Harper's Ferry for Spiritual Rez. Korn is at Avalon, The Donnas and The Music at Axis, Lost Prophets/Hoobastank/Coheed & Cambria at Orpheum AND Collectice Soul at Praradise Rock Club!!!! CRAZIEST CONCERT NIGHT EVER! DECEMBER 1st!!!
