hey! quick update as a form of procrastination. ok, so NYC last week was great! It was a Music Business Association trip. Went to Sony Music Studios first. Really awesome to see the studios and people that work there. Train, Jennifer Lopez and Lauren Hill were all there somewhere, but we were unable to see them. Sony Mobile Group was next. They talked to us about the ringtone business and how it basicly revived the singles market after the cd single market died out. Friday we went to Warner/Chappell publishing. They were really informative and gave us limited edition copies of Too Much Heaven: Songs of the Brothers Gibb. not gonna be in stores and it's a 3 cd set in a cool red velvet case, so that was nice of them. Last place was Warner/Elektra/Atlantic (WEA) distribution. That's a huge company as well. They were the nicest out of all the places. we had a great time talking with them and that seems like a place we're all going to keep in touch with the most.
WORD. ok, so I bought a bunch of new media Tuesday. Aqua Teen volume 3, Rooney dvd, new 311 dvd and the new Collective Soul album. The dvds are all great, but the new Csoul album is only average due to the fact that one of the key members that made them great, Ross Childress, had left the band after the band was dropped from Atlantic. I still concider them one of my favorite rock bands, but the new stuff isn't cuttin it compared to all the other albums.
Lastly, I went to guitar center with Brian and Karl after dinner tonight and found out my old buddy Diego works there! He hooked me up with a nice discount on the new Martin LXM small body acoustic! And maybe in December when I'm lookin to get either an amp or a guitar (haven't decided yet) he'll hook up an even better deal do to the fact that he is moving at the end of the year and won't care if his boss gets mad for giving a huge discount.
