I haven't posted in awhile, over the summer I worked on a remodel project for walmart. I learned alot, I could tear down and entire walmart and put it back up again, I learned practically everything about Corporate store planning.
During the time spent there, I interviewed for 3 management spots at that store, I thought I was in for sure for an Overnight Operations manager position. I had 3 interviews, and in the end they gave it to a girl who doesn't know anything, and can't lift an Ipod.
I'm tired of waiting, and trying to prove myself, if I haven't done it by now, its not going to happen. I no longer want to work for walmart, I hate being there for various reasons, mostly because we're expected to do the work of 10 people, while barely getting paid for the amount of work we do. Since the company was sued for not promoting women, now men are getting screwed out of promotions, its not fair, and I'm not going to wait around for it balance out.
I have applied to many places over the summer, and just recently I applied to CompUSA, I wasn't even seriously looking, I just decided to apply while my friend was buying a computer last week. I interviewed on Thursday, and had a 2nd interview the next day (today) after about 30 mins today, I was offered the job, pending my drug test/and criminal background check I will be starting at CompUSA in Auburn Hills, I will be a Tech Specialist, focusing on Computer sales, and hardware sales and support.
I'm pretty excited about my new adventure, everyone out there seems pretty cool, so it will be good. I don't know how much I will make yet, but I do know it will be more than what I'm making now. They also have monthly bonuses for meeting sales goals, they were telling me a little about it, and everyone in the store gets a bonus when the goals are met, they average $950 a month, and thats on top of my hourly. I'll have more about this as it develops.
