you mean the world to me...

I truly had a fabulous weekend. Saw Adam on Saturday, of course, and then the Pride Parade in Montreal yesterday afternoon.

Melissa and I went downtown and found some awesome places to stand, and some of our friends joined up with us, including Ari (iamsupernova). The Parade was awesome, but our group of friends seemed to be the only ones actually cheering and getting excited by the participants in the Parade.

About a third of the way through I saw the love of my life, Phil, who was dancing in the Parade with a mutual friend of ours, and I just tore over there, jumped into his arms, and he twirled me around. Then he set me down, kissed both my cheeks and my lips and said, "You have a beautiful energy." Which, in retrospect, should have made me suspicious because, hello, this boy knows all about my energy, I'm his fruit fly, what?? But I didn't really reflect on that until later when Phil admitted that he didn't recognize me with my dark hair and just thought I was a stranger jumping in his arms. That's Phil for ya; go with the flow!

But I digress. The Parade was awesome. A local tv station asked me why I like the Parade, and if you follow this link to see what I had to say. Video on the right. My quote is at the very end. Pretty cool!

The Parade felt short somehow, and when it ended Melissa, Ari and I walked and danced along behind the Parade. At some point, Ari went home, and M and I went to eat at a food court near the Village. The number of gay and lesbian couples we saw holding hands and exchanging sweet kisses... it pulled on our heartstrings. We kept smiling at each other, so happy to see members of our community free to be themselves.

Then we went into the Village and sat on a curb to wait for Phil. Phil and I had arranged to hang out after the Parade, and when he was finished with his post-Parade fun he joined us. He had his friend Louis with him, and we eventually met up with Phil's friend Simon, and then the five of us went to St-Hubert BBQ. We sat for a few hours, eating and drinking and chatting about all sorts of interesting stuff. We discussed what pornography we're partial to (a topic we were all in agreement on, LOL!) and shared horror porn stories (like 2 girls, 1 cup and 1 gay, 1 cup - ACK!), and talked about our Plans for the Future and pop culture stuffs. M and I talked about Adam's show the night before and Simon told us he'd been at UNITY -- where Adam partied after the show, and got to see him up-close. He was surprised by how tall Adam was, but Louis said, "Well, he towered over Ryan on American Idol." It was awesome; I'm so jealous. And proud of myself because I knew he'd be at UNITY. Adam Lambert and I partied in the same club -- on separate occasions -- which is AWESOME.

Simon and Louis went home after dinner, and we met up with Manar, a friend of mine from school a couple years ago. She grabbed something to eat and we kept her company and talked about sex and the double standards for men and women when it comes to being sexually free. We talked about Glee and The L Word. Then we went Le Drugstore, which is THE lesbian club in the city and sat around for a little longer before M and I decided to head home. It'd been a long weekend, after all!

I cannot fully express how magical my whole summer's been. I feel so content with who I am, so loving and loved, so smart and beautiful, and it's all thanks to Gaga, and Adam, and Pride, and my wonderful perfect friends. I love life.
