Heading for a better life.. An end to 2007

Every year within the last days before the new year, I sit down and think about the year in review. What a year 2007 was, good and bad!

Starting with the beginning, January was the start of my Winter term at Baker College. Brent, Edward and myself joined a church bowling league. We ended up taking 4th or 5th in ranking. We met many great people including an awesome Pastor, Steve. I obtained a new obsession, the Nintendo Wii which I got for Christmas. Something unexpected happened in February when Juliana sold the store to Robin. No one seen it coming. Thankfully everyone stayed on the crew since we were all friends. Jan, Feb and March included some of the best Guitar Hero parties we had yet. Big Brothers and Big Sisters finally pulled through once again and matched me up with a girl named Claire. We have had some fun memories since. My family took a trip to the Detroit Zoo in May which left us with many unforgettable memories.

At the beginning of Spring quarter, life changed for me drastically. I landed an awesome internship with "Ready, Set, Grow!" Passport. I worked 125 hours, and in June I was signed on for my first real job. On June 10th, I finally graduated with my Associates degree with a 4.0 GPA. I was very proud of myself for proving what I knew I could do to my family and friends. With my new job, it was my first step into the real world and my new life. I rewarded myself by taking off the summer.

Summer, ahh basking in the sunlight, enjoying the time off, loving the free life. But the start of summer wasn't the easiest for us all. Our careless and heartless neighbor poisoned our dogs with illegal drugs and killed Bo. Luke was able to pull through, heal, and become healthy once again. We adopted Bear and Monte a few weeks later. The First summer cookout was actually a family party I pulled together for my brothers 30th birthday. He met his girlfriend Tina just a few days afterwards and they have been together since. Morgan's wedding was a blast. From meeting the entire Donathan family, camping outside for the first time in a pop-up, dirty booty dancing with the cousins and Ed, blaming Denise on the next day, and the question of what was split on the back of my dress on the dance floor? concluded the best wedding I have ever been to. Mindy, my cousin Julie and Patrick and Ashley also got married between July and August. Late July, Jacob, Adam, Katie, and I ventured out to Ohio to Cedar Point. We had a blast riding all the good rides and enjoying each others company for a day. In August we had our annual family reunion in Drumbo, ONT. This was the first year Ed was able to attend. The next weekend I had my first experience tubing down a river in Newaygo, singing and drinking along the way. I was burnt to a crisp!!!! Came home Sunday and left to spend an entire week up in the Upper Peninsula in Calumet, MI. My whole family got away from everything, work, school, drama, life, and spent it together.

Once I returned home, Concerts were well on their way. This year alone we seen 13 bands at Projekt Revolution including the best, Linkin Park and Madina Lake. Then Trace Adkins and Josh Gracin in Sept, Madina Lake and Trapt in October, and Madina Lake again in November. Edward and I had our rollercoaster of a year with the low in September. Thankfully we worked our way through everything and we are stronger than ever. We celebrated Edwards 21st birthday and Jacobs 20th in October. Bear and Monte got to visit Santa and got an adorable Family Christmas Portrait. Edward and I took our first vacation together this year too to the lovely state of Florida. We spent a week with my Grandma and bonded on a friendship level and relationship. Once I returned I got very ill. It took just over a week to feel better which leaves me at the end of the year.

All I can hope is 2008 is just as great as 2007.
