Episode 12 of Arang; A Race Against Time

Sep 22, 2012 21:35

This recap is a race against time; bro just got home from longboarding with about a thousand injuries (which obviously meant that I had to tend to him), the new doctor who airs in an hour exactly, and I need to write down all my thoughts before I completely forget them. This whole recap is dedicated to the Dramagods as sacrifice fordangermousie Unnie's speedy recovery~ This is a baby-cap (aka Moya's noteworthy/favourite scenes only) btw~ JunJin!

We start off with a face-off between Killer Jr. and Saddo. There is so much awesomeness in Saddo's lines that I had to write it down verbatim, paraphrasing would do it no justice.
"Tell your father
That the next time he has business with me, he should come find me personally.
That he must not touch Arang.
From head to toe, don't dare touch even a single strand of her on her.
Don't look at her. Don't think about her.In other words, mind your own goddamn business."

And then he smirks and leaves. My soul also leaves me right about now. I can hear it pining for Jun Ki in dulcet tones.

He comes home to find her pacing, and he smiles at that. No, it gets better. He smiles at her in full view of her. Like, these are my feelings, I like you worrying about me. Both you and Faith, Show, have ruined me with these types of scenes. Decimated.

He comes up to her like this 5 year old schoolboy and is all You were worried about me, see, it's written on your face, and airdraws "I am worried" And she totally touches her forehead in a wipeaway motion and checks her hand as if it really was and he has the cutest smirk laugh thing and she sulks so cutely and oh you both are cute hamsters and am I even making any sense any more?

She tries to think of another solution to the evil family and adopts a The Thinker type pose and he snorts and so cute.

Equals discussing equally will never get old, and he forbids her to enter Bastard Old Man's house because she might get hurt and her smug-like face when she promises she get patrols for him~

Here, have some cutely confuzzled Eun Oh~

I like how they all look to her in askance, like Great Lady, what art thou thoughts. And Eun Oh is just, whutisgoingonI'msleepytellmethisisadreamI'msoconfusedMoyacomehugme~

She tells him about the catch and he explodes, so she makes this puppy face and is all

"But... as you don't have patrols for the stakeout, and you were so concerned..."

And he just sighs and goes fine, but she goes on

I knew you originally hate ghosts, but as this is a different situation...

I didn't think of it thoroughly.I didn't even know how you felt.

And he's like, I said fine...

If you hate it too much,I will let them go.It would be enough if I get nagged by them for a month...

I said I get it!

Then, again, it would become dark under my eyes... As I wouldn't be able to sleep...

Stop it. Stop it! Stop!

You know, I love it when blackmail semi-backfires, only to give you some of the best scenes ever.

Obviously we next find Eun Oh thrown to the ground. Was there ever any question? I mean, Arang is a cunning, manipulative, beautiful, chaste ghost. How could such... situations occur?

And yet at the same time Ms. Chaste Ghost touches her fingers to where his hand just was. If I was one of those sociological scientists, I could tell you exactly what was going through her head and what signals she was giving. As it is though, I can only make approximations: she like him~

Eun Oh goes to his fallback plan in case of awkwardness: Clear your throat multiple times and be gruff!

Meanwhile in La La Land where we comtemplate on the great mysteries of life...

Eun Oh's guide to being a Magistrate: (1) Just fabulously fling the doors open and strut in with enough confidence and pizzaz to make Naomi Campbell jealous. Next: tell Minion to scram.

Third: Smirk hard enough to give the Bastard Old Man hypertension.

Fourth: Diss all of the evil family. Fifth: strut back out and close doors behind you just as fabulously.

Sixth: Discuss matters with your most important person.

Ul Ri-ah is the one currently plagued with the sleeplessness, and as she lifts her head, you have this hilarious scene of Eun Oh not knowing whether to scream in horror or to grab Arang and run or to burst into giggles...

In the end they settle for the goldfish look...

She's saddened by her past and that saddens Eun Oh as well (he listens so well~) and he decides to let her read the diary.

He tells her that he wasna hiding it from her on purpose, he just wanted to give it to her himself. I feel so sad.

It's so sad to see Arang lost in her own room, which used to be her whole life, but is now almost unrecognizable to her.

I feels sorry for Joo Wal and hate him at the same time, but for what it's worth, this scene was sort of beautiful.

As is Arang.

And I don't want to be mean to Joo Wal or the actor that portrays him, but his is not the face that you fall in love with at first sight. That would belong to Eun Oh or Choi Young. Joo Wal's is one that grows on you.

They're all just so sad and I canna deal. I don't have any words for these sad scenes.

Sleepless nights~

Ul Ri lets the truth slip to Dol Sae thinking he knows most of it anyway, and Dol Sae rages.

Uptil now, I've always had a love-hate relation with Dol Sae, since I know he loves Eun Oh even if he is a loach. But right now? Right now I was grabbing the daggers I received for my 18th birthday and was stabbing it into him till he resembled a Shawarma rotisserie. On a sidenote: I want more daggers for my 20th birthday~

Eun Oh feels the same because look at the rage...

So close and yet so far...

His hand shook so much that for a moment I thought there was some form of forcefield surrounding her as special protections.

I feel bad for him, and my heart does bleed, because I saw him in his childhood, and yet at the same time I want to shake him and tell him that his crappy childhood is not a get out of jail free card for all his wrongs. In that vein, while I did not want Arang to get hurt, I did want him to do something and get caught so Eun Oh would have legit reason to beat the shit outta him.

I don't know why but I don't have a cap of Eun Oh psychically getting shocked, but here, have one of him running in and flinging the doors in panic in case something happened to Arang.

I feel bad for you, but you hurt my babies, so if you come to the good side, good for you, but if you don't I'll shed a few tears, feel sad, and remember you on rainy days once a year.

Their faces, their confessions, their ugghhh. It made me claw my face and everyone thought it was a cat and I just said yes, because how do you say no I ripped my face apart because OTP was lying to each other about loving each other.

Mini-Thoughts:
I hope she comes clean because she smart and has guts and because she is not your typical kdrama heroine, and if she does that I will died. Thoughts, arguments, mindless rambles and sharp objects welcome (but no poking!)

moya goes crazy over a drama, kdramas, arang, babies~, shin min ah, moya liveblogs shit, kdrama, lee jun ki, drama, arang and the magistrate
