I recall that my mother taught me a less morbid version of that prayer when I was little. It replaces lines 3 and 4 with "Guard me safely through the night/And wake me with the morning light."

Thanks Nikki I appreciate it. You seem pretty stressed yourself right now it's sweet that you would still take time to listen to my stupid little problems. I hope things get easier for you soon.

My dad used to recite the same prayer with me and my brothers when we were growing up. Then he would do the funny handshake, and hug, and kiss us goodnight. That's really the only time he ever spent with us. So that prayer has got depressing memories for me as well. Were you brought up Catholic by any chance? And as far feeling that feeling like the world is closing in, nothing makes sense I want to die, I don't believe any one really loves, understands, or knows me, I hate everything kind of feeling, I know that feeling all to well myself. Are you a picese or a water sign at all?

Nope I'm a Sagitarius, on the cusp of Capricorn.

Fire and Earth. Not brought up catholic but in a religious atmosphere. Not pushed on me too much though.

You know me though, It's Jen remember when we worked at Stack's the Cafe at library limited together? You asked if you could draw me naked. We knew each other before and after that time though. Just can't think of any other way to identify myself so that you'd know who I am for sure.

As for the other things I'm not sure what to tell you but I do know that there are people that care for you. Several of them on lj.

I knew it was you, that's why I posted, and added you to my friends list. I found you, and rocketparkboy browsing Mike, and Davids LJ. Brian said of me on his journal, if you know someone who is batshit crazy, don't be surprised it their lj is as well. Or something like that. I was so flattered. Yeah. My lj is not for the lite of heart, that's for sure.
