It's official, I'm (almost) old and out of touch with today's youth
On the bus this morning I spotted a piece of graffiti
H+M=<3
It took me a few minutes to realize that it wasn't some obscure mathematical proof, but was in fact a statement of lurve along the lines of the old 4eva stuff. Is it a sign that I'm going over the hill and can't get back that I discover such things through graffiti these days? At least there's some comfort in being able to decipher it...
There's other evidence too. I finally brought my old speakers over from the UK - my older friends will remember just how much I loved them. I bought a new amp to power them, and I was under the impression I'd get 2 shiny new speakers to go with them. I didn't. It came with 2 pairs. So now I have a set of six three-foot high speakers dotted around my room, and I spent the evening listening to jazz on a leather couch surrounded by candlelit dragons.
