Ok, I confess, I'm getting a little bit excited. This has been a very long time coming, but I'm very happy to see things progressing a little more smoothly than they were for a long time.
Space shuttle Discovery is due to launch today, at 15:38 GMT if the weather's ok. It's taking with it the "Harmony" node, which will allow them to launch Columbus in a few weeks -
Columbus being the long-awaited European module.

interview with the STS-120 crew on space.com - including the Italian astronaut Paolo Nespoli, if anybody's interested.
In other news... I have a flat! I can move out of the hotel and into my shiny new apartment on Saturday.
