A little while ago I sent out an email to invite my old friends from the UK over for a bbq to commiserate the passing of yet another year. Sadly none could make it, but in hindsight that was probably a good thing. I was all set for a weekend of festivities with my "local" friends, but when the time came to go out on Friday night, despite a number of beers working their way through my system, I had to back out. I didn't do much else all weekend either, and it wasn't because of the incessant rain.
It seems my lower wisdom teeth are coming through. I've already got the upper ones, and they were so problem-free I didn't even realise it until the Dentist said to me "I see you've got your wisdom teeth" at my last check-up. But it seems my lower jaw doesn't intend to afford me the same luxury.
To cut a long story short, I've been given some rather strong anti-biotics, am knocking back the Ibuprofen for the pain, and need to make an appointment to have 'em both ripped out before they cause more problems. Yay me.
I'm flying to Finland on Thurs with Carol, to visit my friend Timo. Hopefully things will be less painful by then, but I wont be able to sample any of the splendid Finish vodka with him whilst I'm there.
To all this, I have but one thing to say. Bugger.
