(no subject)
So the GVSU band has discovered my sheer volume-producing capabilities, in terms of both my instrument and my voice, and I have earned a nickname from my section leader out of it! It is Peach, who I guess is the starfish in the tank in Findig Nemo, she yells a lot apparently, I don't really remember, but it works, especially since I was the only one without a nickname up until that point. Now whenever I yell all loud and obnoxious like you all know I do, my section my turns to me and says, way to go Peach... It's pretty funny but only just encourages me, so I'm afraid they'll get all sick of me soon, but we'll see. I can't wait to go to a football game because they are so much fun and I can be so loud without people freaking out too much. The show is going to be a pain in the ass though. Our pregame show is actually longer and more complicated and more exhausting than the halftime show which we actually change like every game. Today at three o'clock my band camp is officially over and I may actually be able to get some sleep, have some fun and party my ass off before classes start, I'm pretty much counting the minutes. I am so exhausted right now between the last week of band camp and the resulting lack of sleep, as well as a significant decrease in caffeine consmption despite my personal espresso machine. Sometimes I just don't feel like making any or have time. Earlier this week I just sat there and made like twenty shots in a row, poured them all into an empty mountain dew bottle and kept that in the fridge. I'd just take a few swigs out of that every morning for a few days and it was sweet, now I just need to find time and energy to do it again.
Today was Meijer Madness, practically the whole school went to Meijer for this huge college kid sale they had tonight only. Mary and I went with a couple guys and the place was just packed, but we got some free stuff and bought a bunch of food, so we are happier campers now than when our cabinets and fridge were previously barren.
I miss my people, I need to see y'all, I just don't know when I want to/can come down to Novi and/or State, it hurts to think about it right now so I am going to beeeeeddd.
