So exams went well...then Aurora and I went to Virginia for a week. The drive up was awesome, we were well-rested and Aurora read to me for a total of like 3 hours. Unfortunately we didn't get to go to Busch Gardens or play paintball, because there was a nor-easter the day we were supposed to go to BG, and then the only day we could play paintball was Sunday, but I had to drive back toTallahassee to teach on Monday. Seriously, why can't Hickory HS let my cousins out of school for a day to play paintball?! Oh well.
Speaking of teaching, I'm teaching Calculus this summer for the first time ever! I was really nervous the first three days, and really borderline-depressed, because I was sure I'd be terrible at it and all my students would fail because they were just sitting there and not answering any questions and so on. On the third day Aurora sat in and told me what she thought afterwards, and really justed boosted my confidence, and then Thursday went really well and the students answered questions and even asked a few and actually seemed like the got it.
I was also worried about the teaching thing because there seemed to be time for nothing else the first few days. I also need to do some research this summer and try to get some actual results, so I need to be able to put a lot of time into that too. It seems like it won't be as bad as I first thought, though, and I think it's really exciting that I'm finally teaching for real. Of course it's going to be a bit nerve-wracking at first, but I think (hope?) I'll be an old pro before too long.
Anyway, I should probably do some work, since I am at work and all, so I'm out for now. Peace!
