all is fair in love and luau

my friend mark
had a luau yesterday,
so of course a veritable
festival
of merriment
ensued, truly
an ode
to dionysus, of sorts

it was good fun of course
yet one thing troubled/humored me
i think
it might have been
the fact that my friend mark's
brother's
girlfriend,
who i may
or may not
have
hooked up with at some point
asked me when we were going to hang out again
as we were listening to music in her
very own
boyfriend's room,
where she had slept
the previous night
i
for one,
and i stress
one,
value monogamy
and the sanctity of relationship
some others
don't
nor do most people
realize
that these aren't the times to sow our seeds
of lust,
as we won't get another chance to,
these are the times
where we may just find the one person
who actually means something to us
but we will probably
pass it up
for the idea of something better
instead of embracing what is
truly good

passing up the world, for a thought, which will someday turn to a lonesome dream

um,
perhaps we will hang out when you aren't dating my friend's older brother
dear.
the world of young-adulthood
sure is
depraved

don't you think?
