Having fun and doing great!
Hey everyone, I'm still ok so no worries. Wanted to let you know in case you saw the news. Actually I'm doing quite well. We've been accomplishing A LOT on our missions, finding and destroying the insurgents weapons and hindering thier operations. It feels great and I'm REALLY enjoying it. I also came to the actual realization that we really are helping the Iraqi people and they do want us here. I came for the purpose of protecting my family back home, but I've come to see I'm also helping to protect these families here. The smiles we get (the real ones, not fake), how willing many of these people are to give us intel, and how friendly they are shows me what's real. I saw a family the other day that had tokd us they were afraid of the terrorists around that have been threatening them, but after they saw us and now know that we are going to be a strong presence and show the insurgents we mean business, they were very helpful and were smiling ear to ear by the time we left. My Sgt has a pic of them smiling, I hope I can get a copy someday when everything isn't so sensitive on security. Wish I could tell you more on what we are accomplishing but I can't risk OPSEC and have the wrong people read it, but know we are getting so much done and are fully energetic and eager.
