The weather was dull and grey and distinctly cooler than it's been lately as I made my way to the Oxfam bookshop early this afternoon, but when I left at getting on for six, the sun had come out again. I snapped a couple of photos with my wee compact camera as I made my way down the road. Unfortunately, it seems to be almost impossible to take a photo anywhere in the centre of Edinburgh without roadworks or scaffolding intruding into the scene: they are everywhere. Still, it's a long time since we've had such a prolonged spell of proper summer weather. We've had several summers over recent years during which we hardly saw the sun at all.
