Daft fashion trends and grammatical annoyances

Apr 23, 2024 21:43

See tights with seams down the front of the legs? I've seen lassies wearing these twice in the past few days. Are they deliberately putting them on back-to-front for a laugh, or are they actually made that way? Is this the latest farcical fashion trend?

Here's a piece of grammatical idiocy that now seems to be almost universal, but which drives me up the wall every time I see it. Sleepers no more 'lay' on ballast than people 'tay' their bootlaces when they come undone or tell 'lays' when they say something that they know to be untrue. Hens also don't 'lie' eggs! Seen on https://www.railscot.co.uk on 24th April, 2024.
