Merlin 3x13
Just a quick note to say...
I really really enjoyed the last episode of Merlin. So many poignant scenes, and it was lovely to see Freya (?) again (I thought they'd left that behind completely!), now in the role of the Lady of the Lake. Such an emotional scene.
But my favourite bit was the whole round table thing. I've been wanting this to happen all series (well, since Gwaine first appeared). Arthur's little speech was lovely, and the bit where they all pledged their allegiance was extremely sweet (especially Merlin's bit), and most of all the knighting ceremony was wonderful... except inasmuch as Merlin really really should have been treated the same as the others (no, Arthur, no excuse for keeping as your servant in the new age of equality!); and maybe even Gwen should have been??
I'm very pleased that Elyan was knighted anyway, because it would be completely awesome if Tomiwa got a bigger role next season!
The end was nice, but I felt they could have spent a little longer on the 'Is Gwaine dead?' scene. But generally awesome. I wonder whether Arthur will ever ask exactly how all the bad guys exploded...
P.S. I badly need a Gwaine icon! Anyone know of a batch anywhere?
