- I was half-listening to something on TV where some antiques guy was looking at implements of torture and similar. I could have sworn he referred to something he called a 'Sam Tyler'. Turned out to be a sand timer...
- I was watching Life on Mars last night (series 2, episode 2), and it struck me: Kevin McNally's portrayal of Harry Wolf (Gene's old mentor) really really reminds me of Barry Martin in the Professionals episode 'Rogue'. Any other Pros fans get that?
- 'Stakeout' really is one of the loveliest, happiest episode of the Professionals, isn't it? I just feel so chipper every time I watch it.
- Why is it that watching the second series of Life on Mars makes me find Gene Hunt incredibly attractive, whereas the first series doesn't necessarily? Is he written differently? Maybe it's the slightly longer hair? I can't work it out.
- And while I'm at it, why is it that I don't really fancy Sam Tyler, but I think John Simm's Master in Dr Who is lovely (if mad)?
