Did anyone watch Sharpe last night? I enjoyed it, despite not quite feeling comfortable with the action - possibly this is because the dialogue was very low so I had to keep turning the volume up, or possibly because there were so many damn breaks interrupting proceedings. But still, Sharpe looks good, they're doing better with Sharpespeak than they did in Challenge, and it picked up pace towards the end.
I particularly liked the inclusion of Hakeswill's son as a character. I'm prepared to wager that he'll turn out to be rather noble and good in the second half, seeing as the detachment Sharpe has attached himself too is full of rotten eggs. It's nice to explore how Hakeswill came to have a son though, if only they would explore it.
Oh, and I adore the young ensign lad. How wonderful to have a young ensign who doesn't end up getting killed before the halfway point! Shame that Russian guy is the baddie, because the only other thing I know him for is Kingdom of Heaven, in which he was a noble servant of Balian and his father.
So yes, give me more!

Something I forgot to say about this week's Merlin: extra points for getting in anachronistic references to both tomatoes and potatoes in the same episode! This isn't something that upsets me, because I think it's traditional for Medieval dramas (especially renditions of the Robin Hood legend) to have reference to potatoes in.

I watched the first two episodes of Spooks again, and found even more inconsistencies! But I'm willing to let that go because I'm enjoying it. Never let it be said that I do nothing but complain about TV...
