Torchwood

The other thing I meant to say was that this week's Torchwood was actually good. No, seriously.

I won't give spoilers, because that would be counter-productive (the reason for telling the world that the latest Torchwood was good is usually to remind people who've got out of the habit of watching that it might be worth a look). The plot in itself wasn't that amazing, but it was funny (Ianto had an amusing line!), scary (they might not have been, but they *looked* like zombies and were clearly meant to recall recent fast-motion zombies of the 28 franchise[1]), lacking in crappy CGI, and generally quite well put together. OK, so maybe a bit predictable, and Gwen continues to get more and more annoying. But worth a watch IMO.

[1] I read something recently where George A Romero complained that zombies should be shambling, slow creatures - zombies don't run! This amused me because I find 28 zombies much scarier than Of The (Living) Dead zombies. Anyone else have a preference? Romero's work has never really scared me at all actually, it's just made me feel mildly sick. OK, so it's creepy if there are *lots* of shambling zombies and you're surrounded by them, but if they don't apparently otherwise have the pace/ferocity to catch and eat you, all you really need to do is run away. It's like escaping from good old fashioned daleks.
