Random things, as ever
My user icon add-on ran out today :( I now have only twelve. It feels so damn restricting! Oh well, I'll have to learn to live without some of them. And it's kept some of the best (slash, hug, cheesegasm...).
I also downloaded my pictures from Wales. These include lots of Dr Who location shots, and they've come out really well. Further thanks to cartesiandaemon for lending me his laptop and making this possible - I now have them saved on CD. W00t!
Much of my day was spent doing French stuff. I'm currently at the stage where a French person would laugh at my pronunciation, but I can read lots of stuff without reference, though occasional bits are a total mystery to me for a while, and others I feel I should look up *just to make sure I'm right*. I think this is pretty good progress (from 'knows plenty of French words but only understands the language using a certain Romance sensibility fostered by the learning of Spanish). And, in my defence, what I'm reading is a pretty difficult bit of academic French (I abandoned the Les Liaisons Dangereuses idea, because I had DW books to read for pleasure...).
Finally, I'm not sure I agree with this, but the questions led to a certain self-appreciation, as all good memes do...
