Alrighty, I'm still alive.

But just barely.

Where to start? How about school.

School
I'm still surviving. My recital went well, I finally turned in my recital paper, and I got back my Admission to Candidacy Form (approved). Now I just have to turn in my graduation application, pay the graduation fee, and oh yeah, do my comprehensive exams. For those of you who don't know what that entails, basically it's like this: the three people on my graduate committee each give me a question (think research paper-type question). I pick up the questions on a weekday at 9:00 am and the answers are due exactly one week later.

And guess when I start? This coming Monday. Which just also happens to be the week from HELL, because I have rehearsals almost every day for the New Music Ensemble that I agreed to do. Don't get me wrong, I DO want to play in that ensemble, it's just EXTREMELY bad timing. The peformance is Sunday afternoon, and my comps are due the next day. But I HAD to schedule them for this week, because the next week is the week that classes end, and I'll need time for the committee to read the papers and then I have to schedule my orals/defense. *sigh*

So love, prayers, and pre-cooked meals will be welcome next week. :-D

Living situation
Still living with the brother, but when I graduate, we won't be living in Sutherland anymore. So I'm starting to price places to live around Knoxville. I don't really have a preference in terms of where I want to live, except that it needs to be AWAY from campus. No more not being able to leave my home on game days. I prefer to live by myself, but if finances force me to get a roommate, I'm not completely against it.

Family
Dad retired last year, Mom's retiring this year. Read: we ain't gon' have a lot o' money. Grandmommy's still in about the same state (rapidly declining). Brother's out of school and unemployed.

Job situation
I have my regular gig with Oak Ridge and subbing with KSO (they cancelled the core viola spot audition), and I might be teaching violin to a few kids at my church. I'm mentally preparing myself for day job searching. I'll be applying to all the music retail stores and bookstores I can find, and also looking for receptionist-type work. But I can't really do that intensively until after my comps. Oh yeah, and I wanna get Suzuki certified.

Health
I'm mentally ready to stop taking my Lexapro. We'll see if I'm emotionally ready when I talk to Dr. Smith on Tuesday. I'm eating...yeah. I'm eating. Not very well, but I'm eating. I'm trying, but it's just really hard. Today I've had chicken pesto pizza (Macaroni Grill), chocolate chip cookies, and black olive pizza (leftovers from a few nights ago). My weight is still over 130 (about 133), so that's a good thing. My pants still hang off of me, which is a bad thing.

Oh yeah, and I've had LOTS of migraines in the past two months. Had three in the past week. SOOOOO not cool. And just as I type this, my head starts aching. STOP IT! And yes, photophreak, the headaches may be weather-related, but they're probably also directly related to school, stress, and diet (I love being so screwed up...it makes any kind of diagnosis ridiculously hard). I'm pretty sure they're not sinus headaches though, because 1) sinus headaches are almost always accompanied by fever and discolored mucus (yum) and 2) my previous sinus headaches didn't go away when I took my migraine meds, and these headaches have all gone away with my Zomig.

Other stuff
I'm hooked on Doctor Who. I've missed Smallville for three weeks in a row, and I want to KILL somebody. Animaniacs is FINALLY coming out on DVD. I still have a crush on this guy...and I'm getting closer to telling him... One of my best friends from da 'ville found me on MySpace (Hey, Corn Dawg!), which makes me really happy. I bought another awesome Beatles tee shirt from Target. I love Target.

Well, that's about it. Probably more than you wanted to know...but if, by some chance, you want to know more, just let me know. I'll fill you in either tomorrow, or in a week.
