Song Time

To try to releave some stress from work and to try not to think of it, I'll stick to what always gets me to calm down a little and that's music. So with that said, I'll continue where I left off in my song postings:

Song - Dickeye
Artist - Jerry Cantrell
Album - Boggy Depot

Once round outside and check the door
Only thing he came here looking for
One man wasting another man
One hand washes the other hand

Born traitor (3x)
Soul fader

Stoplight flashes in the street
Injected concrete hide bloody feet
Armed and shining in his hands
Cold metallic green, he don't give a damn

One man wasting another man
One hand washes the other hand
One man wasting another man
One hand washes the other hand

Born traitor (3x)
Soul fader

Down come the hammer, fall my god, you say
Once again the big dog has his day
One man wasting another man
One hand washes the other hand

Born traitor (3x)
Soul fader

One man wasting another man
Born traitor
One hand washes the other hand
Born traitor
One man wasting another man
Born traitor
One hand washes the other hand
Soul fader

Comments - With a title such as "Dickeye" one would think this would be a hard, sadistic type of song, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. "Dickeye" is a moderately mellow song with a very catchy beat. When Jerry Cantrell decided to take some time off from Alice In Chains and produce his first solo album back in 1997, he was still in his prime. Even though him and Layne Staley shared lead vocals in AIC, on Boggy Depot it's obviously all Cantrell. He provides his smooth, soothing voice to "Dickeye" and creates a really catchy song. Even though the lyrics make no sense to me, they don't take anything away from the song itself. "Dickeye" is the type of song that you can get so caught up in that you don't really pay much attention to the words. Unless, you're a hardcore Jerry Cantrell fan, most people probably haven't even heard of "Dickeye", thus it falls into my "under-rated" category.

What's Next - It's right back into the L's and back to an Avril Lavigne. I'll be covering two songs from her new cd but neither of them include "Don't Tell Me" which is the first single currently being played on the radio. But with my history of "discovering" songs before they're played on the radio, I believe these next two songs will be the next two singles off of Avril's new cd.
