I don't guess I will be joining Mandriva Linux Club.
I misread the webpage. Silver level is $12/month for one year (for a total of $144) or a single payment of $132. The standard member is $66/year and the box edition is $84.90 (but is also available via download).
These guys just have a strange pricing structure. I don't understand. I can buy the standard membership for $66 for one year and get the ability to download the same stuff that is on the box edition (as far as I can tell). Or, I can buy the box edition and get one month of silver club membership and the same bloody download.
SuSE is a bit wonky with some of the KDE stuff. KTorrent (I am using to download the SuSE install DVD) keeps crashing. It just drops off for no reason and I have to restart it. Same problem does not happen under Mandriva. I have no idea what SuSE does to their release of KDE, but Mandriva seems to have (on the surface) less futzing around with it. Still, I recommend SuSE to any new user of Linux.
