Rawr.
Went to see tall ships yesterday. I know, sounds strange right? Well here in Nova Scotia, it's a big thing. It's actually called the Tall Ships Festival or something. Since we live by the ocean, you'd think we'd see lots of ships and whatnot. We do. But not that tall (or big, cause some of 'em were HUGE) and not that many at once. Nor are we usually allowed on them, seeing as when we do see a big ship, it's usually just passing by, or here working or whatever.
So the Tall Ships thing is where a whole wack of tall ships get together and we have this big thing where people are allowed to get on the ships and walk around. Does this sound kind of stupid? Well, it's actually pretty fun. There's all kinds of other things going on too, like parades and music, and a zillion different food stands are open. There are a few guys who dress up as Captain Jack Sparrow (you know, from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies?) and other characters from the movie. One "Jack" was standing on the boardwalk with a coffee in this hand and yelling at some guys who were trying to paddle a boat. They weren't doing a very good job at it, and "Jack" kept yelling at them to "paddle like they mean it". It was hilarious! :p Me, BUG, mom, dad, my two aunts and my uncle laughed our asses off.
Another funny thing was that, sometime around 12:30 I think , it started raining - really hard. Everyone ran and took cover under a canopy or wherever. The smart people all had raincoats. We were not smart people. Instead we ran and took cover in one of the boats. Said boat had a downstairs. Said downstairs was dry. :) Teehee.
Sadly, it continued to rain for the rest of the day, and we got soaked. I was wearing jeans that were a little too long for me, and, well, my jeans ended up soaked almost to my knees. Lol.
BUG and I loaded up on candy and ice cream and pizza and everything else we could talk mom into buying for us. I had $20 with me and ended up spending it all. BUG saw this necklace which she really wanted but mom said no because it was really expensive. I actually saw it first and would have bought it, but it was $15 and I wouldn't have been able to buy anything else if I'd bought that, so I passed. BUG spent the rest of the day trying to find another necklace that looked exactly the same, but couldn't. We both ended up buying bracelets though. And, of course, candy. Well, I bought candy or mom did. BUG didn't have any money because she was trying to "save" hers. Therefore, shes making mom pay for everything. She wants a laptop. Growl. I've wanted on for years now, but mom keeps saying I can only have one if I pay for it myself. So I've been saving since my birthday. Problem is, I keep finding books that I just have to have. *Sigh* Well, whatever, I've got more money than BUG does. :)
After the Tall Ships thing, we all went out to supper. We first stopped at this seafood restaurant, but it was packed, and we wouldn't have gotten a table for seven people for ages. On the way out, I saw MC's mom and her boyfriend. Which reminded me; I haven't seen MC since school got out. I don't even think I've talked to her on MSN! :( Which isn't unusual for her. She's usually busy in the summer, since a lot of her friends live close to her, and I'm almost never on MSN these days. (I'm busy stalking all of my favorite author's websites. ;P) Plus I live at least 30 minutes away from all of my closest friends. MX1, BERT, and GEM all live close to an hour away from me, but GEM lives the farthest.
Oops. I got off subject.
Anyways, we ended up leaving and going to another restaurant, then my aunt and uncle went home and we went to Wal-Mart for a bit. I ended up buying a book (surprise, surprise), candy, and the New Moon poster. The official one, that is.
By the end of the day, I was exhausted, and went to bed pretty early. Then proceeded to sleep in till almost 12. Then felt lazy and read Succubus Blues for hours. Now I'm addicted to Richelle Mead's Succubus series. I'm waiting for the second book, Succubus On Top, as I type. Sadly, I'm probably gonna have to wait for a week or two. (Thus my title^^^). :( I can say one thing, though. If it's not here by Saturday, I'm probably gonna end up buying it when mom, BUG, Aunt ALBERTA, and I go shopping. I found a new addiction . :D
Mom's calling me. It just got sunny and she wants a swimming companion. Tootles ! :)
