When did I last update? Just a few days ago? Busy busy busy.
- So going clubbing in Kyoto was a massive bust. I went with three girls from last semester, including Heeral, so I was pretty excited and a little nervous before we left because everyone else seemed like they've gone out to this club a lot before. BUT since it was a Wednesday (I should have known ha ha ha but Osaka nightlife is always busier during the week than the weekends so..), there was absolutely no one at the club! Nooo one! And we arrived there around 11 PM, which is when the trains shut down so we were stuck in the area until 5 AM. Ha ha ha ugh. Like, the best part of the night was talking to our bartender because she grew up in Brazil and was completely endearing. She gave us her card and suggested coffee in the future, which is actually an awesome prospect.
BUT BESIDES THAT, it was a boring and expensive night. Also, it started raining once we were heading back, and my dorms didn't re-open until 7 AM, ugggh. Walking back from the bus stop I was so so soaked! I went to bed so cranky ha ha.
- BUT FRIDAY, kind of at the last minute, I decided to go to Nagoya to visit Brad while we both had some time to hang out before classes start for me. And it was tremendously fun! Getting down there wasn't too hard, just took a few hours.. But once I arrived, Brad took me from the station straight to the dorms to have beers with all his friends ha ha. So everyone hung out all afternoon until we all went out for more food and beer since Brad's friend Naoki is leaving for Tokyo fairly soon.. And after that, we ended up at a jazz club to meet Brad's host sister. I made a fool of myself in front of her, but whatever.
Yesterday I went out with Brad and two of his friends, and helped with a birthday present mission for one of their friends. I didn't end up getting to Hirakata until around 8 PM, and straight from the train I met up with Carlos to go to Mama-san's, ha ha.
Mama-san's isn't really the name of this restaurant, but it's a little family-owned placed right next to Carlos' apartment where the owner has everyone call her Mama-san (duh), and she and her daughter Miki make EVERYTHING. I love going there, ha ha. Leaving was a little stressful though since I had to worry about the 11 PM dorm lock-out, and ended up borrowing Carlos' bike. I made it back with five minutes to spare! Satisfied.
So now, I'm killing time before I leave the dorms for good, and move back in with my host family tonight. They aren't meeting me until 4, and it's about 1 here now, ha ha. THE DORMS HAVE BEEN SO AWKWARD!! I don't even know whether or not I should say good-bye to my roommates.. WE NEVER TALKED! They're both Swedish and only spoke Swedish the whole time except for like the ten words we exchanged. OH WELL.
