2011 Sketch #10

Here's a little fun sketch of Robo Bug in an action running pose. Sort of like a slight worms eye view would make it seem more dynamic. Play with the perspective of the background a bit... ad a Michael Bay explosion... "Transformers 4" in the making here, folks!

As for this weekend... I had a good time with Leah, driving to Ann Arbor for some Mongolian BBQ. After she left for home on Saturday, I headed back to Ann Arbor to return my iPhone and wait in great anticipation for the Verizon iPhone's release date.

I decided to stop in Saline, MI on the way to see an old friend of mine and his home (which I've been putting off for a year or two). It was great seeing good ol' Eric Boyer and his family. Even better was seeing the awesome home and neighborhood he now lives in. Eric used to live less than a mile away from me in a trailer park, and the upgrade to the home he now has was something he and his family deserved. And it wasn't a slight upgrade either. We're talking night and day. I'm really happy for my buddy. ^__^

Also... on a bitter note... The Chicago Bears lost this weekend to their rival (the Green Bay Packers) for the NFC Championship, and a birth into the Super Bowl. While I feel that the Packers do deserve the honor after winning the game, it still hurts to see my team come so close and then come up short. They had a great season, and I sincerely hope to see them there again next year (with a different outcome).

A self inflicted penalty was to finish a Robo Bug painting I had started 4 years ago in the kitchen of my good friend, Mike Venturini. He's the proud owner of the Munro House Bed and Breakfast in Jonesville, MI. As a plug, I'll mention that there is no finer a place to stay in all of southern Michigan. he and his wife Lori are the greatest of hosts and you'll only have fond memories when staying with them for a weekend or on business. Mike does have one flaw though... He was born in Wisconsin... and he LOVES his Packers... Thus... The Robo Bug wearing a vintage Brett Favre jersey is now finished in his kitchen. Such a humbling day... *sigh* I'll try to get a photo of it posted sometime in the coming week. I have a wedding to perform there on Saturday (yes, you read that correctly), so I should have an opportunity to get the shot.

Take Care and God bless,
Chad
